I think that's a great idea. I've updated such documents throughout my life and I don't understand those who don't.
 

Your status as a veteran doesn't make a lot of difference in the process, there are no special benefits for veterans as we pursue this civilian documentation. You'll need to retain an attorney who is licensed to practice in your state. A lawyer with probate experience is who you're looking for...the lawyer you choose will guide you as to what is best for your situation in the state you reside in. Good luck!
