Are there any substantial changes to FIDU Appointment

Question:

Jim has the VA changed the matter in which they handle Vets that are unable to manage their own finances in appointing a fiduciary from the VA vs Spouse? I recently read a Q&A you had with a Vets spouse dated May 2013 "If veteran is unable to manage his own finances, VA will appoint a fiduciary".... and you did mention there were lawyers trying to change the matter in which its handled. just wanted to know if there were any updates or changes. Thanking you for your service and helping fellow Vets.

Jim's Reply:

Changes? Yes, there have been changes but nothing substantial. The VA fiduciary program continues to be about as dysfunctional a program as VA has to offer and that says a lot. If a FIDU is suggested to you...call a lawyer!
