Wrong answer in a C & P Exam?
Question:
I recently had a QTC exam. During the exam the Nurse Practitioner asked if I could pick up a 40 pound box without it hurting, I said it would depend on the day. She seemed aggravated and said what about a ten pound box, I was nervous and thought picking up the box wouldn't hurt so I said no. Later thinking about her questions I realized picking up the box wouldn't hurt but bending down to reach the box and getting back up would even without the box. Will this be used against me even if x-rays show different?
Jim's Reply:
Take a deep breath.
Relax. Exhale.
You're doing exactly what every one of us do after our C & P exams. Every one of us relives the exam over and over and we think to ourselves, "I shoulda woulda coulda when he/she asked I answered incompletely I don't think they're allowed to do that how can I get my totally screwed up exam fixed now?"
Every. One. Of. Us.
The exam is history. You can't fix it now...trying to ask for another exam is a recipe for disaster and it'll likely set your claim back months. TBH, I don't see a problem with what you tell me...sounds pretty routine to me.
Your rating decision isn't made on the basis of that exam. The C & P exam is only a part of the total process of adjudication of your disability rating claim.
The rater who has the privilege of assigning your rating will review the totality of your evidence and render a decision based on all of it. If you were to be denied and you believe that this happened because of an inadequate C & P exam, then is the time to appeal the decision...not before then.
Good luck!
