Question:

In 2017 I was rated 100% P&T, in April 2020 I was found to have OSA and rated 50% for that condition. How will the VA treat that additional rating for pay?

Jim's Reply:

Your rating will remain at 100%. Once you've reached 100% additional ratings have no monetary effect unless and until you reach a 100% plus 60% status at which point there is a modest increase for the Housebound Benefit.

Beyond that are very complex Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) calculations that can add more money for the significantly more disabled veteran.
