VA Hospital Dispute

Question:

Hi Jim, I am Dante a 20 year Seabee Vet. I feel that I am being discriminated against by the VA Hospital. Where can I get help with this? I don't have a lot of money so hiring a lawyer is out of the question. Any help would be great! Thank you.

Jim's Reply:

Any time we have a problem with a VA hospital, other than something like medical malpractice, we should follow the chain of command and protocol that each facility has in place. To ignore their protocol and chain will usually result in whatever your concern is being lost in the maze.

Each facility has a patient advocate and that's where you begin. From there, if necessary, you can work your way up the chain of command to the facility director.

If you're reasonable and work with the advocate, most problems can be resolved right there.

Good luck.
