What is the minimum # of VA appointments to keep TDIU

Question:

I have TDIU and SSDI. Recently awarded SSDI, full award. As of now, SSA told me no CDR (continuing disability review) for seven years. With the political climate and Trumps proposal to change this......I also do not trust the VA hospital/medical culture because I view many, if not most, as mere SUPPORT STAFF to follow cutting costs and "the bottom line" mentality. That said, I would like to go more to my private, primary physician. So question is: WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF APPOINTMENTS I NEED TO MAKE TO THE VA TO KEEP MY TDIU?? Once every two years? Does that include only requiring to see primary care - and/or specialists like cardiology, etc.? Thank you Jim

Jim's Reply:

If your TDIU rating is P & T, you don't have to return to a VA physician at all because there is no future review scheduled. I would think you'd want at least yearly visits to insure that your own health is strong...but that won't have any effect on your rating.
