Many hip-related health problems
Question:
service connected at 0% for left hip since 1991. Found medical record and had exam in 2016, received increase for 10%. Employed as a deputy sheriff hurt hip while on job, work comp, had hip anthroposophy surgery cam impingement July 2019. Still recovering light duty. Can I submit my surgical records to VA for exam and possible increase, three months after surgery still having issues. other hip is now a problem. Two separate issues work comp and VA. Eventually I will need a new hip. May not return to work because of demands of job, medical retirement.
Jim's Reply:
Yes, you can apply for an increase to the 0% / 10% rating. In fact, had you applied before the surgery you'd be receiving a 100% disability rating while you recuperated. It's too late for that now but you should go ahead and seek an increase to the existing rating.
