Both ex's are vets and VA has mixed up the paperwork
Question:
I’m a veteran and my ex is a veteran. He has not paid child support and has arrears of $26k to me. Because we are both veterans, the VA insisted on putting both socials on our records resulting in papers being mixed up in different folders and a subsequent denial. I appealed and the DRO did a write up saying I should get $450/month but when sent back to the RO, it was denied. We are coming dangerously close to my son turning 18 and my claim is still in BVA hell. What can I do?
Jim's Reply:
I don't have a clue what you're asking? You opened with a child support problem and transitioned to denials of (apparently) disability claims and a DRO made a decision but someone else denied it? Now you have a different appeal at BVA? You need a veterans law attorney to help you figure that out
