Army vet's children wonder about benefits
Question:
Good Morning Mr.Jim my dad was a vet with the Army and 100 percent honorable discharge. well he passed in 2008. my brother and I never received any of the benefits that we where entitled to. Can you help me with getting started with the process please thanks.
Jim's Reply:
Dependents of disabled veterans are often entitled to additional health care and educational benefits while they are dependents of the disabled veteran. When the status as a dependent has passed, there are no other benefits available for non-dependent children. I'd guess that any benefits your father earned for you were used prior to his passing.
