DFAS: Concurrent Retirement Disability Pay

Question:

I had over 36 years in the AL Army National Guard. I had a stroke while on orders for military duty. Had the LOD (found in LOD), MEB, PEB (awared 50% disability) and the VA awarded me 70% and IU (100%). My Retiree Account Statement show
Gross Pay > $2597.00
VA Waiver 1517.00
SBP Cost 169.15
Allotments 71.76
Net Pay 839.09

When reading the qualifications for 100% CRDP, it reads that I am qualified for 100% CRDP. My question is why does DFAS find I am not qualified for 100% CRDP. And how do I correct this if I qualify for 100% CRDP ? Thanks for your time.

Jim's Reply:

I can't answer why DFAS finds you ineligible unless I read their communications to you about the denial. DFAS and others usually provide explanations and appeals processes if they deny a benefit. If you can provide me with anything DFAS has said to you, we can go from there.
