Gulf War Presumptive Claim stalled
Question:
Gulf War Presumptive Conditions- Redeployed with chronic cough. Separated on VSA in 92. Cough continued and eventually began treating it as asthma and prednisone. Developef HT and aortic aneurysm as asthma worsened. Surgical repair of aneurysm, ongoing asthma, requires nebulizer. Second aneurysm in aortic branch dilating. Submitted Intent to File with DD214 and current medical records. Army medical records unlocatable. Claim is stalled waiting further input. Buddie letters will establish nothing more than DD214. Need a well crafted Nexus letter to draw all this together. But have read a lot about fraud around letters for pay. Do I have a chance or just forget it?. Besides, wouldn't any compensation just be recouped for 26 years of VSA?
Jim's Reply:
I can't predict whether your claim has a chance or not. If you believe that your medical conditions are service connected, it's your right to pursue benefits. I'd suggest that you retain a veterans law attorney to guide you through the complex process. You'll find an accredited attorney here
