Question:

My friend has a special needs, high functioning son who has been physically abused by his father & older sister... they need custody & legal help. She is a single Mom. Can you help or help find an attorney?  The boy's grandfather is a Korean Army Medic Vet.

If there has been physical abuse that you're aware of, local law enforcement is your first stop. They'll direct you to your next steps. Don't hesitate to call the police to get protective services started ASAP.

• PS from StatesideLegal:  You may also want to connect your friend with her local domestic violence advocacy organization via a call to the National Domestic Violence Helpline;  Many of those programs either have inhouse free attorneys or work closely with their local civil legal aid provider to provide free support restraining orders and custody issues.
