Social Security rating
Question:
Is there a social security disability rating, and can it affect my social security income? I currently have no social security disability rating, is there such a thing? FYI, I currently have a VA disability rating of 60%.
Jim's Reply:
The Social Security Administration has a disability program referred to as SSDI. The SSA program differs from the VA program in that there are no percentages of disability, in the SSDI realm you're either 100% or not. SSDI won't affect your SSA income since you can't draw both SSA retirement and SSDI simultaneously.
