Bankruptcy is a civilian problem and you need a civilian lawyer. Your status as a disabled veteran won't help you when you enter a bankruptcy filing, it's all about the money and little else. Veterans lawyers don't manage civil issues so you need to search locally in your region for an attorney who will help you.

They should have a list of attorneys who specialize in bankruptcy who will meet with you for a consultation for a low fee.    You may also find this information helpful :  the local providers are specific to Maine but the explanation of bankruptcy applies in all states.
