Daughter's vet boyfriend has drug problems

Question:

I’m so sorry to bother you about this. I have been scrolling looking for answers and I came across your page for maybe some guidance in the right direction. First, I just want to thank you for you service to our country. God bless! So I have a 21 year old daughter whom recently got wrapped up with a 30 year old male whom says he was in combat/military. Which I have seen pictures and confirmed he was. He states he has PTSD and receives benefits monthly. My concern is he has been caught in lies, hangs out in these strip clubs, arrested for Possession of cocaine which court is pending, and one thing after another. My daughter just thinks she can fix him and he will change. Clearly she is blind which she has admitted she is stupid for going back to him but he somehow sweeps her back into his world . So basically I’m asking does the VA check for drugs routinely on a person? Does the VA actually make you go into a room with no running water and physically search you?  I’m afraid he is using someone’s else’s urine or is a blood test done. He is a Narcisst and very sneaky and it just upsets me one that my daughter is with him and that he is using and abusing the VA system. Again sorry for wasting your time but curious on your thoughts or guidance.

Jim's Reply:

Whether or not VA tests for illegal drug use isn't really relevant here...nobody would tell you one way or another. Don't worry about a veteran trying to abuse the VA, they're used to it and they know what to do. The real issue seems to center on your suspicion that there is some illegal drug use going on and your family is being involved. Your best option is local law enforcement...they'll listen to your story and maybe be able to help.
