Sexual assault in a DOD school
Question:
I'm looking for legal representation regarding my daughter who was Sexually Assaulted in a DOD school, 2010.
After reporting the incident, the school removed HER from the Special Education and allowed the teacher to continue her assaults against my daughter.
Jim's Reply:
When we look for legal help we have to do most of the footwork ourselves. All I'm able to do is to direct you to my web site, the VAWatchdog Dot Org, and tell you to start contacting the attorneys you'll see there and see who may be interested in helping your daughter. I'll tell you that it's best if your daughter seek help for herself as any legal action will need to come from her.
- PS from StatesideLegal: The Department of Defense has created a special website on sexual assault in the military (including DOD schools), here . Additional DOD "instruction" on resources available to victims is available here. Your daughter's age at the time of the assault may also be important. Given the implications for your daughter and other students, we encourage you to look for legal counsel ASAP. Many attorneys will undertake these cases on a contingency fee basis, which means they get paid only if they win the case.
