The usual reason for apportionment of VA disability pay is that the veteran has fallen far enough behind in child support payments that VA agrees that some amount of money must be withheld to satisfy the court order. The specifics of whether or not the children are yours and whether you are obligated to pay child support has been resolved by the family court during the divorce process. The way to get this resolved is through the family court. If you aren't being treated fairly, the family court is the only place to get any help.
