VA fiduciary appointment program

Jim,

my father is totally disabled veteran .I filed for in home care assistance and was finally approved after nine months .They withheld his monthly pension pending the fiduciary process. I filled out the proper paperwork with my local VA council assistance .I even filed appeal for my in home care assistance because the amount was extremely small compared to what we spend on his nursing requirements. When get through to the va I am told there will be another six to nine months for fiduciary process.I then ask why we do not receive monthly compensation and told we have to wait for the fiduciary to go through .I know this was supposed to against VA policy .I have spent in excess 14000 dollars on nursing care with no end in sight

There is currently a battle being waged with VA regarding the badly managed VA fiduciary appointment program. Lawyers have taken VA to the federal courts and they are winning back the rights of veterans.

The process is a slow one. VA seems to be convinced that it should continue to fight and keep the status quo, not making any positive changes.

For now I can only advise you to stay on top of what's happening with this by visiting my web site frequently for news updates. I've dedicated an entire page of information to this problem and I add information to it often. Click here http://www.vawatchdogtoday.org/Fiduciary_Appointments.html for the very latest.
