Appealing a benefits reduction
Jim,
Can you lead me to someone that can help me in the Springfield MO area. I was treated for prostate cancer in 2009, I received a letter today saying my benefits will be reduced from 100% to 10%. (not even allowing for ED)
I have been having bladder and urine problems since the 13th day of my
radiation, I’ve have mentioned the problem of urgency and leakage to my VA Dr. each time I’ve gone for an appointment and take medication
daily to help the problem.
The evaluation report claims no record of any claims of problems even
though I’m taking medication for help my bladder and flow.

You probably don't want or need any help at this point. The letter is
pretty routine and almost everyone in your situation will get something similar.
The process begins with you responding to VA with a letter of your own. The written letter directly from you is the most powerful tool you have. All you need to do is tell the VA that you disagree with the 10% rating and why. Make a statement of the continuing symptoms that you're having. Be sure to describe your symptoms in detail.
Mail your letter to the VA using certified mail only...don't fax it or email it...only certified mail is acceptable.
