Loss of a creative organ rating

Jim,

I had prostrate cancer from agent orange exposer while in Vietnam, and had surgery. I was awarded 100% from VA and given 0% for ED. I also receive extra for lose of creative organ. I was reduced to 50% because I no longer have signs of cancer. I still receive money amount for lose of creative organ but was never given a % rating for lost of a creative organ. What I am wondering is why isn’t there a percentage rate given for lost of creative organ? Also since I was given 0% for ED is there a chance to have that increased now that my cancer rating has dropped to 50% or is ED the same as lost of creative organ? Thanks for any help

Loss of a creative organ is rated under the Special Monthly Compensation tables and is a letter, not a %. It is SMC-k and in 2013 is $100.00 added to anything else you receive as a benefit.

Erectile Dysfunction or ED is seen to be "Loss of a Creative Organ" by VA. In VA terms, "loss" also means the loss of use of any organ or limb, not necessarily the physical loss of the organ or limb.
