Jim,
I am a 40 percent service connected former Marine. You have helped me before with some questions and I thank you very much. I have recently been Harrassed at work for Suppossed Abuse of FMLA leave. Which is not true at all. But my bosses at the Post Office feel different and they have crossed some lines they should not have. I wont get into detail because its to complex for an Email. The point is I have definitly had my rights violated repeatedly and I have what I believe to be as SOLID proof. I will be filing with the EEOC within a week or two. I am just buliding my case at this point by gathering evidence. Would you have any advice or Numbers of lawyers that maybe represent Disabled Veterans? I live in upstae NY.

Your legal problem is not one that requires a veterans lawyer. Veterans attorneys represent veterans when the veteran needs help with the VA. You have an employee/employer dispute that requires a specialized skill. Lawyers, like most licensed professionals, have specialties and sub-specialties of their practice and they don't often venture outside those arenas. The lawyer you choose will probably represent any citizen who is in a dispute with his/her employer. Your status as a veteran probably won't enter the discussion as being particularly relevant. Another way to find a lawyer who specializes in employment law is to use our Find Local Help map. If you filter for "Lawyer Referral" under "All org types" in your state, you will get a listing of referral offices sponsored by your local or state bar association. For a small fee (or sometimes for free), you can get a referral to a competent lawyer in your area.
