veteran lost USPS job

Question:

I was terminated from the USPS after 18.5 years of service. I am a 50 percent disabled Veteran and was on medication for anxiety and depression. I reached out for help from the EAp program and was seeing a mental and physical physician for assistance. My Union and USPS Management retaliated against me for several years because of my numerous EEO cases (some still pending). I now have no income and no insurance for me and my family. I am in dire need of legal assistance to help with Labor Charges and EEO cases to receive my backpay and career that was deceitfully stolen from me. Please help me and my family, thank you.

Jim's Reply:

You aren't entangled in a problem involving the VA or your veterans benefits so you're pretty much on your own. Veterans are entitled to some legal help when they have VA problems but that doesn't reach over to civilian problems like an employee/employer dispute. Your best bet will be to search local resources like legal clinics at law schools or legal aid help that may be provided in your community.

  • PS from StatesideLegal: Use the "Find Legal Help" directory to look for free legal aid providers (LSC) who might help or know a resource that could, or for a LRS provider who can support a low-cost consultation with a private attorney who specializes in EEO cases and might be willing to help you on a contingency fee basis.
