Question:

Hi,Jim thanks for your service to us veterans! Question: I am 50% s/c for my shoulders $945.00 and also collect $716.00, I have been diagnosed with Leukemia and am doing monthly treatments via 14 injections, and also 2 meds a day to hopefully slow down this disease. I was not in Vietnam nor went overseas ,can I get on S.S.? my Oncologist says I am unable to work. thanks

Jim's Reply:

Filing a disability claim with the SSA is the only way I know to answer that question. SSDI is designed for citizens who are unable to work so if I were you, I'd apply today.
