Question:
I have PTSD service-connected and just got diagnosed with OSA sleep apnea. I didn't receive a sleep test while in service. Should I file for sleep apnea?
Jim's Reply:
It depends on whether or not you are able to link the OSA to your service. If you've been out a while, it's going to be very difficult to prove the connection to service. if you're thinking of filing it as secondary to PTSD, you have to prove that and that's hard to do. If your OSA isn't reasonably service-connected, you're wasting time to file for the benefit.
