School closed

Question:

The School I was attending closed. Now Department of Veterans Affairs says I owe them $3100. When I try to reach out to the Art Institute Finance Dept.,  all numbers no longer in service. I have tried emails, and multiple phone numbers for assistance. The VA basically told me it's my problem and last correspondence from them was they are turning this debt over to the Dept. of Treasury. Is this something you may be able to help with, or at least point me in the direction who can help me? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Jim's Reply:

This is a hugely complex problem and it's getting worse by the day, as explained here.  There isn't much you can do but appeal and appeal again...and begin to pay back the money.
