Question:
Our family moved out of current resident that we were renting. Was told and given a letter of preapproval for our first home loan through VA home loan.. seller did everything right we put $1900.00 earnest money down and paid for inspection. 45 days of bull crap and lies from the lender and the run around. we gave them everything they asked for. Military 8 years, employment records after leaving military now working for family company as a truck driver. We were told house was ours, no issues, we were good to go. Last day, they told us no and we lost everything. Trying to get our money back from the lender. They are even stating they screwed up. However we now have no home and he destroyed our credit by pulling it up 5 different times during this process.
We need help and legal advice. I have a bipolar wife and also an autistic son. plus two other children one being a newborn. Now we have no where to live. Currently at my in-laws but they can't handle the 4 kids. just too much for them. what can I do? I was screwed over big time and led on?
Jim's Reply:
You need to retain a local lawyer to help you. Real estate law is often a very local process and someone who knows the local statutes will be the person you need to speak to. Otherwise you'll need to seek help from a legal aid organization in your community or even try your state attorney generals offices to see if they may help.
