Rating Discrepancy

Question:

Hello Jim and thank you for your service. I'm a 20 yr retired vet who back in 2017 was granted IU and at the time had a 90 percent rating. Then, in 2018 on another claim, the VA rated some of my areas "static", thus marking me as T&P now as well. Now, since 2017, I had a NOD going on and here in 2020, got the SOC in the mail for me to review and send in VA Form 9 in on anything I disagree with before it goes to BVA for final decision. The question is now, the VA just bumped me to 100 percent scheduler, but still have me as IU and T&P.   Is this correct, that you can be both IU and 100 scheduler at same time? Would appreciate any feedback you have it knowledge on thus matter. Thanks!

Jim's Reply:

No...you can't hold those ratings simultaneously. However there is a lot of lag time built in to everything VA does and it may takes weeks or even months for one reporting system to catch up to the other reporting system. The VA IT infrastructure isn't very well connected from one department to the next. Much the same holds true of an address change at VHA...that won't change your address at VBA and you have to manipulate the system a bit as well as be patient for the dust to settle.
