Question:
I had radiation treatment for prostate cancer. I am due an examination with the VA in January. I am still getting up two to three times a night and still urinating every three hours or so during the day. I know my compensation will be reduced but will it be Totally eliminated?
Jim's Reply:
Your compensation will be reduced to reflect the severity of any residual effects of treatment. The rating may be 20%, 40% or 60% and is usually in line with how many pads you use each day to control leakage. Don't forget to file a separate claim for erectile dysfunction, a common problem after prostate cancer treatments.
