Prostate Cancer not permanent and not temporary

Question:

I received notice from the VA after my first C&P exam, that my prostate cancer disability will continue at 100% but is still not permanent. They did not say temporary. I'll be 70 years old in 3 months and don't intend to have any treatment. If I appeal it, will this raise a flag at the VA and cause more questions?

Jim's Reply:

There isn't any formal pathway or process to appeal for a permanent rating. As a rule,  at your next exam after your 70th birthday, the examiner will likely recommend P & T and that will end the future exams.
