Question:
A 100% disabled schedular vet is exempt from property taxes. Is a vet disabled thru unemployability also exempt from property taxes?
Jim's Reply:
Many states offer 100% Permanently & Totally (P&T) disabled veterans breaks on property taxes, as well as many other exemptions from state licensing and other fees. The 100% rated veteran may be either permanently rated or he/she may have a temporary rating. This is true of both the 100% schedular rated vet as well as the 100% rated TDIU vet. If you're 100% TDIU and there are no future exams scheduled, you're probably eligible for all your state offers. To be sure, check with a local county veterans service officer to review your status.
