Significant rating increase

Question:

I was just given the letter that I was totally and permanently disabled due solely to your service-connected disabilities. I was previously at 90% and the increased total of everything went up between 80-100% more, I think its at like 240 or 260% total.  My question is, am I still allowed to work? I don't see anything in the letter that says individual unemployability. Can you give insight to this?  I have a decent paying job and do not want to do the wrong thing. Thanks for your insight and help.

Jim's Reply:

If there is no reference to the TDIU (unemployability) benefit it's safe to assume that you're rated as 100% by The Schedule and you are allowed to work as you're able to.
