Benefits for Vietnam Vet's son

Question:

Jim, I am a 78 yrs old Marine Veteran who served in Vietnam and now 100 %. I have tried for several years through my Congressman with no success to get help for my son. He is my only son and he cannot have children. He was born with one testicle missing and the other descended. Also, he had web fingers and toes. We had surgery done on his hand and foot. However, I am concerned that the women veteran are able to get help and compensation for their children, but we, males who were grunts in-country fighting get nothing. Is there any way I can get help for my son who really is somewhat disappointed. Also, I am one of the Camp Lejeune Marines. Thanks, Charlie

Jim's Reply:

To my knowledge and belief there is only one benefit available for the children of Vietnam veterans and that only comes into play if the child is born with spina bifida. I don't know of any benefits available for the children of the Camp Lejeune contaminated water event. I wish I had better news, but I don't see any path open to provide those benefits.
