Question:
I’m currently Active Duty in Washington. What are my options for my vehicle back in California that was involved in a collision while parked outside our residence? I have filed a claim with my insurance but do not have uninsured motorist coverage available. I’m uncertain what my options since i’m far away from home and i’m trying to figure out what to do for this situation. Thank you!

I'm as lost as you are. Being active and away from home brings so many problems we couldn't foresee. The 1st thing that crosses my mind is that you need a local (where the vehicle is) representative to manage this for you. That probably means retaining an attorney in that region to represent your interests. Yes, that's money out of pocket but it could prevent problems down the road.
