Question:
First of all, thank you for your service and for this site. You are obviously a blessing to Veterans everywhere. I am currently rated as a combined 80 percent due to several service related knee conditions. Recently I have had bone spurs on my heel operated on and am about to undergo back surgery. I know these conditions are the result of walking and living with my knees in bad shape. Should I seek secondary ratings for those new conditions and if so how would you recommend doing so? If not I understand. Thank you again for any and all advice and for all you do.
Jim's Reply:
You may file claims for any conditions you feel are service connected...even those that are secondary to existing conditions. Filing a secondary claim works exactly like any claim...you file the forms, make your statements and VA takes it from there
