File a claim - that begins the process

Jim,

I don’t know where to begin but I will try to make it short...we were told that my only child has a form of leukemia he is 29, he had done four tours in Iraq in the air force special forces not to mention other places. he was exposed to the burn pits as well as an aircraft called blue jet or blue angel “not sure” but he is just now telling me this. the aircraft was highly radio active. as jumbled as my explanation is I have a strong resolve and will fight until my last breath!! I come from a large military family so I know what it is too love my country. and the men and women who have given us that right!! so I guess what I’m asking Mr. Strickland is where do I go from here? I want to help my son. Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

I'm very sorry to hear that your son is ill. Please offer him my best wishes.

Every action with VA must begin with a written, formal claim. While there are some small exceptions to that rule, every VA benefit is always best begun by completly completing the process to file a claim for benefits. Calling VA and asking what can be done may or may not produce any action. The filing of a claim is the only sure way to get things started.

Filing a claim is not difficult. If you'll head to this page on one of my sites, you'll be able to get going quickly http://www.jimstrickland912.com/How_To_File_A_Claim.html
