I don't believe we will experience direct cuts. I do believe that benefits will erode over time. This will occur as benefits aren't raised or improved to keep up with the cost of living and so on. The people who are supporting the erosion of our benefits usually aren't veterans. The trend that fewer and fewer veterans are holding public office is disturbing. Veterans are an easy target for those who never donned the uniform, never took the oath.
