Question:
Is there a legal service that help veterans with reviewing a severance package from a former employer?
Jim's Reply:
I'm sure that there are plenty of lawyers in your region who practice employer-employee law. You can do a Google search and shop around for an attorney to help you. If you're asking if there are any free legal services for veterans...no. Veterans don't get free representation for civilian legal problems. Unless you're eligible for legal aid in your region you have the right to retain and pay for a lawyer to represent you.
- PS from StatesideLegal: You can also use the "find legal help" directory to contact a local LRS provider and ask them for the name of an attorney with experience in employment law who can provide a low-cost consultation to you.
