Question:
I am an Army retiree living and working overseas. I am needing to go back to the states for some personal business and I am worried about this passport revocation if you owe the IRS a lot of money, which I owe some, not sure how much though. Is there a way I can find out if I am on the revocation list before I land in the states and am stuck there? NOTE: I received a new passport, 5 months back and have traveled to several companies since then as recently as June and no red flags. Would it only affect me entering or departing the United States of America?
Jim's Reply:
You could try calling the IRS? If you owe taxes and you recognize that you owe taxes, pay the toll and move on.
