Fiduciary Appointment questions

Question:

Jim have you heard of VA designating a Fiduciary for a disabled veteran who has a personal credit score above 800? OR of VA sending a letter to that veteran and his wife in February 2020 stating that VA 'discontinued its fiduciary action' but then later VA apparently proceeded to secretly adjudicate the veteran in need of a fiduciary?

Jim's Reply:

I can't say I've specifically heard of that particular scenario. Having said that I've seen some pretty bizarre circumstances when the VA fiduciary team comes calling so nothing surprises me.

Many years ago there was an appeal process that was clunky but sometimes worked. For the last 5 or 6 years I've given that up and the best I can advise veterans who are threatened with fiduciary actions will be to call a veterans law attorney right now. https://www.vawatchdog.org/how-to-hire-a-veterans-law-attorney.html
