Question:
Good morning Mr. Strickland, I am writing on behalf of my father who is a veteran from the Air Force. My father has been trying to get his benefits for almost 2 years in regards to his COPD which he obtained while in the Philippines. He had a test done in regards to determine if he really has COPD 6 months ago and now he was told he has to do it again because he has a new doctor that was provided by the VA. Now he can't get his medications until he gets it done again. Is it common to have it done again if it hasn't been a year since his last test? Also, he hasn't gotten any of his disability benefits. He needs help. Can you please help us? Thank You from a very concerned daughter.
Jim's Reply:
I don't understand why your father doesn't simply have the test done? If this is for a C & P exam to determine whether or not he'll receive benefits, he needs to get there on time. Missing a C & P exam is usually a default and the benefit will be denied.
