Can I change my current fiduciary to somebody that I trust? Can I get full benefits for myself?

No, you aren't allowed to choose your fiduciary. When the VA assigns a fidu, you'll be given the opportunity to suggest the people you might want in that role but the final decision rests with VA.
If you don't believe that you need a fiduciary, you can appeal that decision.
